It occurred to me one day.... that perhaps storytelling could add something wonderful to the practice of Yoga. If a story were fashioned around a series of asana, it would add a level of connection to poses that we do.We would be living this story, participating in the telling of it through our movements, through our own breathing. And, it would guide us through the asana in a sequence, helping many students when they practice at home: how to remember the flow of one asana into the next. Whether you are new, a beginning, intermediate or advanced student of the Yoga asana there is a wonderful place for you in the Journey!
As you flow through the story intently transform yourself from the deeply rooted Tree into the Eagle or from the arching Bridge into the Fish swimming effortlessly. Practice the magnificence of each poses, while your awarness sharpens in the transistions.
The story has 22 asana (poses). A cinematic background filmed and photographed in the Pacific Northwest with breath taking vistas helps to make the journey memorable.
Version #1 is done at a faster pace (43 min.). One should have a good understanding of transitions and structure of yoga asana. Native American music is used to create a soul moving adventure.
Version #2 has a slower pace (50min.). Allows for more time to transition from one pose into the next. You may choose to hold the poses for a few more breathes. Maybe you need more time to settle in to a certain position. Inspirational yet calming music is used to inspire deep breathing and expand into your own steadiness and strength.
